Interactive Final Draft/Project Report

Updated: Jun 9, 2022

  • Audience/Purpose: describe the intended audience of your project; what are you trying to communicate to this audience?

The audience I am trying to reach are people who are looking to watch a good show to immerse yourself into and enjoy a beautiful soundtrack. My aim is for people who have not seen it also. I want to communicate to all people just how much of a piece of art and how full of depth this anime has, and why they should watch it.

  • Image(s): how do features of the project effectively convey the message to your audience?

To properly convey my message I approach the project as an essay. I discuss the general details of why the show is good, but then delve deeper into one of my favorite episodes. I show scenes of the episode that relate to the topics that I discuss. This allows for the viewer to have some visual representation of my points. One of the biggest features has got to be the music. The music, just as it does in the show, plays a vital part in immersing and creating atmosphere. I take full advantage of the music and it's ability to hypnotize listeners into a state of calmness. With all of these factors combined, I can communicate just how beautiful the show is.

  • Process: what did you do to create this project?

I first began by finding the specific points I wanted to talk about on the specific episode I chose. Then after downloading the episode, music, and pictures that I knew I would be utilizing I began writing my introduction and body and ending paragraphs. Throughout the creation of the project I continued to download more things as I required them, and I recorded all my lines that I wrote. After, I began to search through the episode what clips and scenes I would need. At this point I had all the parts that I needed. It was only a matter of trimming and combining and timing all the components together. I used Filmora to create the project and to edit.

  • Learning: what did you learn from working on this project?

I learned from working on this project that creating video essays are both way easier and way harder than I thought. I say this because coming up with the idea is not so difficult but to actually deliver and be creative with it is the part that I struggled the most. I also struggled with maintaining the audio quality to be the same. To put simply, I learned just how difficult it is to make specifically a video essay. This was my very first video essay and it is evident, but I also did learn that it can be very satisfying to make them.
